LIFEGROUP QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 11 – JUNE 17

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:  

1 John 5:1-5

1. Explain what it means to ‘believe that Jesus is the Christ.’  (What does the word, Christ, mean?)

Look up some Bible references to support the fact that ‘Jesus is the Christ.

2. What are the three landmarks in this text that work together to make you an overcomer?

3. According to verse 1, how do you know that you are a Christian?

4. According to verse 2, how do you know that you are a Christian?

5. Discuss the difficulties that one might have in obeying God’s commands.  (Vs 3)

Look at the word, ‘keep’ and find its meaning in the original language.

6. How does obedience to His commands prove our love for God?

7. Why does The Holy Spirit say, speaking through John, that “His commandments are not burdensome.” (Vs 3)

Explain how faith is the Victory that overcomes the world.  (Vs 4)
