Pastor Al Frank

Senior Pastor

Pastor Alan Andrew Frank and his wife, Terri, grew up in St. Louis, Missouri.  Al’s first career was as a TV News Producer and Documentary Producer/Writer in the St. Louis market for ABC, CBS and NBC affiliates. He received 31 Regional Emmy Awards, a Silver Medal at the New York Film Festival, the National Headliner Award and the International Iris Award, among other honors. Along the way, the Lord used the life witness of Al's friends and family to point him to his own desperate need of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Al’s change from skeptical journalist to committed believer led him to a calling into Pastoral Ministry..

Al left his journalism career to become an ordained Evangelical Free Church Pastor.  He graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis and served as a Pastor at Calvary Church (EFCA) in St. Peters, MO for 14 years.  Pastor Al served as the preaching/teaching pastor for two different congregations in two different cultural contexts each weekend.  In 2012, the Central District Board of Directors called Al to become the Regional Superintendent and Church Planting Missionary in the heartland of America.  He also served on the EFCA's National Church Planting Team. In 2019, the congregation issued a calling to Pastor Al to serve at Village Bible Church.

Al & Terri have 2 adult children (and a little dog who pretty much runs the place). They love the people of Village Bible Church and love living in Bella Vista. They especially enjoy discipling people, as well as hiking, biking, kayaking and traveling to beautiful spots to see what God has made.  They would love to have a cup of coffee with you and have the Blessing of getting to know you!

Pastor Joseph Utter

Associate Pastor/Worship Pastor

Brought up in a ministry family, Pastor Joseph Paul Utter calls several states “home”, including Minnesota, California, Nebraska, and Arkansas.  He attended the college of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri where he worked in the paint shop on campus & as a community outreach servant.  It was while in college that Joseph’s faith grew strong, surrounded by godly young friends with whom he still enjoys getting together with once a year for ski and float trips.

Joseph met his wife Molly Katherine while serving as a lay pastor in a church in Little Rock where her father was one of the planting elders of the church. They were married on December 29, 2007 & have been enjoying life together ever since.  Joseph went on to serve in full-time ministry serving in various roles leading musical worship, children’s & youth ministries, as well as director of music, before answering the call for deeper theological studies in seminary.

In 2018, Joseph, his wife, and four kids moved to New Orleans to study at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary full time, while leading worship for a local church part time, serving as NOPD-deputized campus police for NOBTS, & as Campus Housing Resident Assistant for seminary families.  After nearly three years of this in New Orleans the Lord made it clear it was time to head back to Arkansas to be closer to family & pursue full-time ministry while continuing seminary online and flying in for intensive weekends.  He hopes to complete his 90+ hour degree within the next several years, slowing down to part time while he serves Village Bible Church Bella Vista.

On July 7, 2021, Joseph answered the call from VBCBV (and ultimately from the Lord) to move his family up to Northwest Arkansas.  He and Molly are excited to accept the call to serve the Lord & His saints at Village Bible Church.

Joseph has a passion to see people of all ages and backgrounds to taste and see that the Lord is good & to worship God out of thankful hearts and lives!  Multi-generational worship amidst a myriad of people groups and creatures is what Revelation 5 depicts our future gathering around the throne of our King of Kings.  He has experienced musical, congregational worship through many forms of music in a variety of genres.  He enjoys worshiping our Creator God in the majesty of open spaces outdoors.

Joseph, Molly, and their children are enjoying exploring northwest Arkansas & love meeting new people & sampling all flavors of ice cream treats!  And they have designs to start working on their bike skills!
